When you host a large party, you don't typically want to cook for everyone. Ordering food is a whole lot easier, and the perfect food for a big party is pizza! Almost everyone loves it, you can order a few different varieties, and it's affordable. Since most pizza restaurants deliver, you don't even have to drive to pick it up. Here are a few tips to help you make pizza delivery the life of your large party.

Call well in advance.

When you only want one or two regular pizzas delivered, you typically call when you're ready to eat and wait for your pizza to arrive less than an hour later. But if you're having a really big party and you need a lot of pizza, you had better give the pizza restaurant more of a heads up. Call the day before, or even the morning of the party, and let them know what you want to order.

This gives them more time to make your large order. It also ensures you can get the pizza delivered at precisely the time you want. If you call at 6:00 pm and expect ten pizzas to be delivered at 7:00 pm, the restaurant may not be able to have them ready in time. On the other hand, if you call at noon and ask for 10 pizzas to be ready at 7:00 pm, the restaurant will almost certainly be able to deliver.

Pay in advance if you can.

When your guests are there, and you have several different things asking for your attention, you won't want to have to worry about getting money together for the pizza delivery person. Ask if you can pay, via credit card, over the phone when you place your order. Make sure you arrange to leave a tip for the driver, too. It's customary to pay about a 10% to 15% tip. 

Have someone ready to help you at the door.

Make sure you ask one or two party guests or family members to come with you to the door when your delivered pizza arrives. When you have a whole stack of pizzas coming, you may not be able to carry them all at once. Things will go more quickly if there's at least one extra set of hands to grab things from the delivery driver.
